Town discription
Paphos is the westernmost town of Cyprus. The city has been known by various names throughout the centuries for example NEA Paphos and Ktima. Following a ministerial council decision its name was changed to Paphos and remains so to the present day. However some of the old people are still using the old names for some areas of Paphos. Historical documents record that Paphos was discovered by Agapinor, a hero of the Trojan War from Arkadia. The most significant event to take place this period was the selection of Paphos as the capital of the island. Steeped in history, culture and archeological sites, Paphos is a great place to visit anytime of the year; offering everything from culture, to natural preserves religious monuments and icons, as well as some fabulous beaches.
